PROJECT VISION

Scrapwaala is a scrap collection app which acts as a mediater between people and scrap collectors. It allows users to sell all types of scraps to scrap collectors. Users just have to pickup a date and their location through the app and the collectors will get the notification. People do not get proper facility to manage their waste, also the collectors have a hard time collecting and recycling different types of waste. Scraapwala aims to act as a bridge between those two and fill the gap .

KICKOFF

For kickoff, we asked ourselves some  initial questions. Who is our primary user? What kind of needs do they have? Why would someone want to use this application? Just how large of a scope do we want this project to be? We have got the data about our end users through our client.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

  • We then started with competitive analysis with our major competitor “The KabadiWala”. We analyzed the workflow and decided to engage the audience through our newly design concept which focuses on user enjoyability, equitability and usability.

  • Stakeholders proposed a color palette which was not matching with the theme and satisfying them was a major challenge.

  • Although we are UX designers we faced a major challenge to work as UX writers.

  • We have to go back to research and wireframing process many times as the client was making changes to his new startup every time.

STYLE GUIDE

Utilising a gradient consisting of classic and prudent colors felt like the perfect fit for scrapwaala branding. The green helps evoke a ecofriendly feeling out of users , and paired with the white it creates a nice effect for cleaning and waste collection effect. The main typeface of choice for the app is Poppins. I felt this typeface best fit the app do to it's extreme versatility through uppercase and lowercase styling, as well as dark and light text fills.

WIREFRAMING

Before moving forward towards high fidelity wireframes and mockups design on pc , We wanted to get a feel of what the basic app would look like when put in front of us and the stakeholders.
